Sam Beal Missing Update Former New York Giants Player Vanishes After Virginia Beach Trip, Family Seeks Answers

Former New York Giants Defensive Back Sam Beal Still Missing Nearly One Year After Mysterious Disappearance

KENTWOOD, Mich. — Nearly a year after former New York Giants defensive back Sam Beal vanished under puzzling circumstances, his family is renewing calls for public assistance as investigators continue searching for answers.

Beal, 29, was last known to have contact with loved ones on July 12, 2025. According to information shared by his sister, Essence Zhane, the former NFL player dropped his girlfriend off at a relative’s home in Michigan before borrowing her vehicle and saying he was headed to work. Instead, he traveled hundreds of miles to Virginia Beach, Virginia—a location where family members say he had no known personal or professional ties.

The case has drawn growing attention because of the unusual circumstances surrounding his disappearance. Authorities later recovered the borrowed vehicle abandoned in Virginia Beach. Inside were Beal’s shoes, socks, and sand scattered across the floorboard. Family members say he left with only the clothes he was wearing, a pair of slides, and a wallet containing his identification and banking cards.

During a phone conversation with his girlfriend, Beal reportedly indicated that he planned to return home. He never arrived, and no verified contact has been reported since.

A native of Michigan and former standout at Western Michigan University, Beal was selected by the New York Giants in the 2018 NFL Supplemental Draft. He appeared in nine NFL games over three seasons before his professional football career ended.

Family members have acknowledged that Beal faced personal challenges in the months leading up to his disappearance. However, investigators have not publicly identified a definitive explanation for what happened, leaving loved ones searching for closure.

As the one-year mark approaches, Beal’s family continues to urge anyone with information to contact the Kentwood Police Department or the Virginia Beach Police Department. For relatives, friends, and former teammates, the focus remains on one goal: finding answers and bringing Sam Beal home.

Authorities emphasize that even seemingly minor details could prove significant in an active missing-person investigation.
