Gabriela Amadilia Cruz Death Newlywed Army Veteran and Her Mother Struck by a Vehicle in Stanton

STANTON, Calif. — Gabriela Amadilia Cruz, a 34-year-old Army veteran, devoted mother, and newlywed, died after being struck by a vehicle alongside her mother in Orange County.

The fatal collision occurred around 9 p.m. on Monday near Cerritos Avenue and Magnolia Avenue in Stanton. According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, Cruz and her mother, 61-year-old Amadilia Noemy, were crossing the street when they were struck by a white BMW. Both women were transported to a local hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries.

The sudden loss has left loved ones grappling with profound grief. Friends described Cruz as a compassionate, hardworking woman whose kindness touched everyone around her. A veteran of the U.S. Army, she was known for her dedication to both her country and her family.

Cruz had recently celebrated a joyful milestone, marrying her wife in February. Together, they were raising a young son, whom friends say was the center of her world. Her mother, Amadilia Noemy, had been visiting from Guatemala at the time of the tragedy.

At a makeshift memorial near the crash site, friends gathered to leave flowers and share memories. “She was a kind person. Good soul,” friend and coworker Phillip Sanchez said. “We’re all going to miss her dearly.”

As the community mourns, Gabriela Cruz is remembered not for the circumstances of her death, but for a life defined by service, love, resilience, and devotion to family. Her legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched and the loved ones she leaves behind.
